Types of spline shaft
Depending on the application requirements, either a ground spline shaft or a non-ground (commercial grade) spline shaft is available.
| Types of spline shaft | Structure | Features |
|---|---|---|
|
Ground spline shaft |
|
Precision ground and precision machined surface finish |

For general industrial use |
All types are available with ground spline shaft
STANDARD overall heat-treated spline shaft

Spline shaft features:

Nut features:
Data can be found in Catalogue B 14-23 pages.
STANDARD partly heat-reated spline shaft

Spline shaft features:

Note: Nominal diameter in part numbers is not equal to real diameter! Real shaft diamaters are in the second column. Example: the real shaft diamater of SSPF25S is 23 mm.
Nut features:

Non-ground commercial spline shaft

Spline shaft features:

Nut features:
The same as at STANDARD type.
Ball spline (also rotary and stroke type)
The Nippon Bearing ball spline is a linear motion mechanism utilizing the rotational motion of ball elements that can sustain loads and at the same time can transfer torque. It can be used in a wide variety of applications including robotics and transport type equipment.
